QA Environment Promotion

Purpose

Steps for transferring information from one QA environment to another. I.E. Promoting tiberius to capax.

Prerequisites

1. A redgate sql data compare license
2. Access to both state dbs
3. Contributor on both resource groups

Steps

1. Deploy the same version of Empower to both environments. See deployment guide here

2. Compare both statedb databases to ensure there are no deltas. Instructions

3. If there are deltas between each statedb, execute these additional steps.

   1. copy the original qa environment into the target statedb. Instructions

   2. Set the cluster identifier in the state_config.DatabricksClusterLookup table. Instructions

4. Copy DmBuild notebooks from one databricks workspace to another. Instructions
